Dying Rules
The rules for dying are as follows:
Normal: Make a Fort save
- If you roll a 1 or 2, you're automatically fading, and have to roll again immediately
- If you don't at LEAST get 5+(Amount in Hole), you're Fading (but don't immediately have to roll again)
- If you get at least 5+(Amount in Hole), you're okay for this round, although you still lose a hit point at the end of your turn
- If you get at least 15+(Amount in Hole), you are awake for this round and can take a partial action, although anything strenuous will cost you an extra hit point.
- If you roll a 19 or 20, you have stabilized and are not in danger of dying. You no longer lose hit points, unless you do something strenuous.
Fading: Make a Fort save
- If you roll at least the amount you are in the hole, you get to live.
- If you fail, you die.
- Only a 20 stabilizes you. A 1 is always a failure. A 2 isn't.
- You cannot become conscious, no matter how high you roll, once Fading.
