Planar Environments

Planar Environments: The Quick and Dirty

Your alignment is (x,y), where x is Law/Chaos, and y is Good/Evil. (0,0) is pure Chaotic Evil. 45 is pure neutral. 30 is on the border between Neutrality and either Chaos or Evil, depending on which axis it's modifying.

For the charts below, calculate the difference between your alignment on each axis and the alignment of the environment on each axis.

Law/Chaos

0-5
+4 circumstance bonus to all d20 rolls, as well as your AC and the DCs of any abilities you use. Your movement speed is doubled. You gain Evasion and Mettle.
5-10
+2. Movement speed is 50% faster than normal.
11-15
+1
16-25
No effect
26-35
-1 circumstance penalty to all d20 rolls, as well as AC and ability DCs. Whenever any spell is cast, the caster must overcome SR10 (a 1 always fails) to get the spell off, as the environment attempts to stifle the spell.
36-45
-2. SR13
46-55
-3. SR16
56-65
-4. SR19
66-75
-5 SR22. The character can only take a partial action each round unless a saving throw is made -- DC15. There is an equal chance of the save being a Fort, Reflex, or Will save. (1-2, 3-4, 5-6 on d6)
76-85
-6. SR25. Save DC 18
86-90
-7. SR28, Save DC 22

Good/Evil

0-5
Gains fast healing 3, effective Restoration, Remove Curse, Neutralize Poison, and Cure Disease once per minute
6-10
Gains fast healing 2, effective Cure Disease and Neutralize Poison once per hour
11-15
Gains fast healing 1
16-25
No effect
26-35
1d12 damage per day, Save DC:15 for half (equal chance of Fort, Will, Ref save)
36-45
1d12 damage per hour, DC:17
46-55
1d12 damage per minute, DC:19
56-65
1d12 damage per round, DC:21
66-75
2d12 damage per round, DC:23
76-85
3d12 damage per round, DC:25
86-90
4d12 damage per round, DC:27

Important Note: Only someone with an ethical stance lower than 30 or higher than 60 can get a +2, and only someone lower than 15 or higher than 75 can get a +4. Without this rule, neutral people would have a large advantage. Only strongly good, evil, chaotic, or lawful people can benefit from their environment to the fullest extent, and they are in the most peril at the other end of the spectrum.
