When Hairy Met Thally

The brute squad, ignoring some bit about a prophecy from the halflings (it's probably not important), proceeds up the mountain path and towards the cave mouth. They elect to take a shorter but more climbing-intensive route, and it almost costs them: gnolls seem to have set up camp on a ledge partway up. They are dispatched quickly, and the climbing continues. The guards at the cave mouth are subdued by a surprise attack.

Inside the cave is a Dwarven town whose residents are now mostly humans and savage humanoids. While the scouts attempt to scout and get into more trouble than they wanted, the rest of the party strides boldly into the center of town and attempts to find information. Instead, they find a few rough spots, though eventually they make a few friends.

Plot Points

• Surprise attacks against weak humans and goblins generally work very well.
• Oga is far more popular in this town than she has ever been before.
• Dwarves don't disguise very well as "fat goblins." Especially when a Minotaur Helm is involved.

Unanswered Questions

• Are Krim and Kasden to be trusted?
• Does a hill giant like Gorfen stand a chance with a half-orc like Oga?
• Is Krim really an agent of the Scattered Petal?

Analysis

• Eliac (sp?) is just not meant for climbing.
• "I slept with your sister" is not a compliment in Dwarven. Especially not coming from a hill giant reading from a phrasebook.
