Presented in documentary fashion, this video captures the essence of this special Summer Camp from start to finish. Our videographers take you to the high plateau of Colorado Mountain College, where preparations are being made for the twentieth annual Summer Camp in the Rockies. When guests arrive, the fun begins and everyone gears up for a week of exhausting yet rejuvenating training.

With generous footage devoted to class-times and the exceptional teachings of the three sensei, there is ample opportunity to learn from these master instructors at work. Not to be overlooked are the special activities planned for the occasion, including the now legendary, and not-soon-to-be-forgotten, Battle of the Clans.

Boulder Aikikai Aikido Summer Camp in the Rockies 1985-1999

This new video includes highlights from the past fourteen years of Boulder Aikikai Summer Camps in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Featuring the teachings of the three primary instructors, Sensei Saotome, Doran and Ikeda, and a number of guest instructors, this video is a unique collection of footage showing the chronological progression and evolving styles of each of these outstanding teachers. All taping was done on location at the Summer Camp in the Rockies venues, where classes included open hand and weapons training and took place both indoors and outdoors.

You can now buy the Boulder Aikikai Summer Camp Videos from 1995-1999. There are six tapes in all and feature the actual classes of Mitsugi Saotome shihan, Yoshio Kuroiwa shihan, Frank Doran sensei and Hiroshi Ikeda sensei, and guest instructors Pat Hendricks sensei and Linda Holiday sensei.
