Natural Variations
Each Bu Jin Design training weapon bears unique markings and qualities. While shape, size, finish and quality of workmanship are consistent, natural variations of the woods make each item distinctive. We will accommodate requests for characteristics such as weight and color when possible.

New! Brazilian Cherry Bokken

With triple cross-grain lamination and one of the hardest woods known, this beautiful bokken is sure to become a favorite. The wood is dense and in general is heavier, size for size, than our hickory bokken. It is shaped in the Jigenryu style and available in Small, Medium and Large.

New! Dymondwood® Bokken
Responding to customer requests, we have developed a Jigenryu style DymondwoodŽ bokken. This beautiful sleek bokken is made of a dense composite material that consists of layers of hardwood veneer and resin. Best used for unpaired kata, misogi and strengthening drills, it is a handsome addition to any collection. Used in paired kata, it may break a regular wooden weapon. The ends of the DymondwoodŽ bokken are susceptible to damage if dropped. Available in Santos Zebra (amber and black) and Chutney (smoke, amber and burgundy tones) in sizes Small, Medium and Large (Large Dymondwood® may take 6-8 weeks for delivery). Custom orders accepted for other colors.

Straight Hickory Bokken
and Straight Hickory Bokken with Tsuba
The Bu Jin® Design Straight Hickory Bokken with Tsuba is onstructed from triple-laminated cross-grain domestic hickory, this special bokken is designed to last. The laminated hickory tsuba, with its unique spline and groove design, attaches securely to the bokken and is held in place by two small bolts recessed into the tsuba. Tsuba is a substantial 3 3/4" diameter circle, 5/8" thick, and is easily removed or installed to suit your training needs.
Straight Hickory Bokken is 42" long. Available in three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large.

Also available! Straight Bokken without removable Tsuba. (Not shown).

Original Hickory Bokken
and Original Hickory Bokken with Tsuba
The two layers of cross-grained laminated hickory of our Original Bokken and Shoto Bokken combine to create a stronger training weapon. Both are shaped in the Jigenryu style, well balanced with the traditional oval-shaped tsuke (hilt), a blunt kensaki (point), and a thicker, fuller design than most.

Bokken is 42" long and is available in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large.

Also available! Original Bokken with removable Tsuba.

New! Hickory Shoto Bokken

Shaped in the Jigenryu style, and of double-laminated cross-grain domestic hickory, the Shoto Bokken has all the features of the Bu Jin Bokken (above). Available in one size, 23" long. Also avaiable with Tsuba.
