Prayer and Prurience: Mist Encounters

Episode Number: (PP101)
Original Airdate: 6/2002

This is the first episode of Prayer and Prurience, the clericky one-shot.

This is also the first episode directed by David Bushong.

The party forms, led by Sendant, with Hargrf of the Frosty Hammers, Amniz the scholar, and Jerifal the evangelical Paladin of the Sky Queen, protector of the blind priestess Anwen. (Have you all added your character pages yet?)

They then travel to Griltar to sneak into a clericky convention, get an aura read on some Architect Dude, and steal his key -- all as part of a "security exercise". Or rather, they travel for awhile, miss an encounter or two because of bad listen checks, and then get attacked by archers and hide in mist to protect themselves (hence title).

Quotable Notes

Sendant: Come on, Hargrf, I'll help you buy a horse.
Hargrf: Ho-urr-s?
Sendant: Maybe a pony? ... A mule? ... An ass?
Hargrf: Oh, yes. I've heard of those. My friends told me that when I journeyed to TwinGate I should be sure and get some ass.

Dave: Okay, just stop for a moment and imagine the sight of a blue-bearded dwarf in rainbow scale-mail swimming through the air with a pair of warhammers.
Colin: I'm soooo glad I'm blind.

Hargrf: (as Anwen casts a spell) You go. Good for you. I trust you. Having ranks in spellcraft would just slow me down.

Hargrf: Right. 'Nuff of that. I'm going to go sleep outside. I'm quite skilled at foraging for food in the wild. I'm sure I'll find some shellfish somewhere. (Note: Twingate, utterly landlocked.) I may have a wee circumstance penalty on my Wilderness Lore check.

[pizza is extremely late in arriving]
Pat: At this point, I think that when the pizza guy gets here, we should kill him, loot him for items, desecrate the body to prevent raising, and write a formal letter of complaint.
Colin: That's crazy talk! There's no need to lodge a formal complaint.
