Discrete Mathematics (4 units)

Course format: Two hours of lecture and two hours of discussion per week.
Prerequisites: Mathematical maturity appropriate to a sophomore math class.
Description:
Logic, mathematical induction, finite series, sets, relations, and functions, introduction to trees, combinatorics, algebraic structures, discrete probability and statistics. Emphasis on topics of interest to students of computer science.
