[Ed. note: Happy episode 420!]
The battle outside Arcanae continues as a beholder shows up. After finishing it off, the party finds Yadarjin holed up in Arcanae, which temporarily was protected like a fortress. The next day, Tierney, Sendant, and Arlemis meet with Fayel to discuss Duke Eledin's edict. That evening, Karilon calls the group together to prepare for the Ironpass mission.
Hate umber hulks. Hate hate hate.
Arlemis, you brighten my day. You know that? I could have been repeatedly disintegrated, plane shifted, petrified, and buggered with a keen vorpal flaming halberd of speed, but thanks to you, I was only down and dying. You are a true friend.
And as for the unanswered questions:
(1) Given the amount of shit that seems to get thrown around in this world, anyone will find a reason to kill anyone else. Makes the Savage seem downright benign. Either that or politically progressive.
(2) More flamboyantly gay than any Elf I've met before, Tierney included.
(3) If you think Ironpass has strict librarians, try returning your books late to any Dwarven library in the Kingsteeth. We have a story we like to tell the children, about Conan the Librarian...
Gryff: You're welcome. I think.
On the one hand, I'm relieved that we didn't have to fight one of the TBP's special agents. On the other hand, I was expecting more.
Patrick: I have decided that we will be doing Ironpass as a LARP.
Tony (quickened, as if metamagicked): Fuck you.
Patrick: Maybe we can compromise.
Dave (throwing stuff at Patrick): Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!
Tony: ...Codpiece of Holding.
