The first commander of the party, Karilon was Southwestern Gate Commander of TwinGate. He ordered the party on increasingly gray-area missions that were mainly designed to stop the perceived threat of the Black Pillar towns. Eventually, after the raid on the Ironpass Library (See Barnes Ignoble and the one-shot episodes), Karilon's activities was exposed to Duke Eledin. In "Bombs Away", he attempted to take out his retribution on Ironpass with one final strike, but was stopped by the party. He has since departed for parts unknown.
At the end of Season One, "One Lie Leads to Another", Karilon was implicated as possibly being the man who told the I'kliat to attack the merchants, thus setting in motions the events that both strained relations with the BlackPillar towns and caused Salin's downfall. However, he was cleared by Tierney, who saw Karilon at one of his performances during the time he would have talked with the I'kliat.
Karilon had executive authority over the BorderMen. As such, his closest real confidante was Krieg, who commands the peacekeeping force.
Little of Karilon's past is known. He is obviously a powerful warrior, and has a keen strategic mind as well. He carried some long-standing grudge against the Black Pillar in general, and Simon in particular. He carries and trains with a very un-elven warhammer -- which, as Tierney has noted, shoots lightning bolts.
