The party revisits the Penumbral Lord's lair, where they find it slowly disintegrating. They proceed inside the Penumbral Lord's keep, where they find an obsidian statue containing the Penumbral Lord's essence. When they destroy it, the Penumbral Lord enters Arly's body, possesses it, and plane shifts away. Unable to determine where Arly went, Tierney convinces the guardian sphinx to let the party loot the Penumbral Lord's treasury. Later, Arly contacts Sendant, telling the party that he is in the Temple of the Bright Blade in Twingate.

Plot Points

• The party has a lot of loot. A lot of loot.
• The guardian sphinx isn't actually evil. The party took it along back to the Material Plane, where it took up residence somewhere in the West Kingsteeth.
• Arly says that the Penumbral Lord, in his weakened state, cannot afford to fight Arly and his friends in his quest for godhood. He has offered to expend the last of his remaining energies to strike at the Ta'bar'pur out of spite for usurping the release of shadow magic.
• Otherwise, Arly seems to be in full control of his body.
• The Wanderer no longer exists.

Unanswered Questions

• Can the Penumbral Lord be trusted? Or will he attempt, one last time, to take the energies of the Ta'bar'pur and achieve godhood?
