The party tries to investigate Gryff's murder charge. More attempts are made on their lives while doing so. Arlemis and Timus potentially find ways to end a curse affecting both of them.

Plot Points:

• The prosecution must declare witnesses of fact, but does not have to declare witnesses of character.
• Caeious is the lead prosecution. The Sworn consist of five high-ranking OathMaker priests.
• Currently, there are only three Sworn. Two of the three JustOrder priests are indisposed -- one is sick, and one is missing.
• [5/2001] This introduces Emcee Hartsdotter, although only briefly, as she attacks Arlemis and then runs.

Unanswered Questions:

• Who is Deshimina really?
• What are the witnesses going to say about Gryff?
• What is Gryff going to do in that cell for the next several days?

Well, first, there were a few more assassination attempts, and second, it's not boring to the people trying to save Gryff's life.

Urgan totally kicks ass -- but why didn't he tell people what LovesGasp is?

Because it's much more interesting to imagine what it could be. Right now the idea of what's going on is a whole lot scarier than the actual goings-on. You've got these orders and these raiders and all this crazy stuff, and there's a good chance that a whole lot of people want to seriously mess up the party, and on top of that the only person seemingly not interested in killing them is some borderline psychotic assassin who seems to enjoy his work a great deal. And he's the one they can trust.

Sit. Yell. Fling filth at guards. Stay away from the window.
