Cliche Night: Fourday Gras

The party heads to Alyon to keep the peace during a night of wild celebration. After the party splits up, everyone starts running into fun and interesting people -- and when Timus hugs a very important person in his life, wackiness ensues for all but Sendant and Aldea, in the form of body switching...

Plot Points

• A gnome is giving Arlemis instructions on how to become some sort of undead. The main thrust of these instructions is that he must kill a vampire named Kaborelias, mix its ashes into wine, and drink the wine.
• One of the insectile monsters is talking with Tierney, claiming a number of interesting and deeply disturbing things.
• A druid wants Aldamar to help, or at least stand by, while Timus and Tierney are executed.
• Aldea has sensed some kind of magic artifact, and is heading for it.
• Sendant is off in parts unknown
• The two bad guys who Feebleminded Tim back in "Night Falls in Twingate" are back, and may possibly be behind the body switching
• A dwarf (Rashka?) makes a (poor) bluff check, attempting to convince Gryffid that there is some master thief on the loose. Apparently the master thief has stolen some powerful heirloom or artifact. Apparently this thief looks almost exactly like Tierney. Gryffid decides not to get involved.

Unanswered Questions:

• So, is the body switching permanent?
• How exactly did the body switching happen?
• How much would it suck for the party to get attacked right now?
• Who didn't see this coming a mile away?

Analysis:

Some possibly interesting ramifications: Arlemis has just had his cover blown in regards to possibly being or becoming undead. Timus may or may not suspect Aldamar of being part of a plot to kill the party. Arly may or may not suspect Tierney of being part of a plot to kill the party. And so forth.

Mixed in with all the wackiness was some nasty stuff with Tierney and someone who may have been Leny, Baelin, Emcee, or Simon -- or all of the above. While nothing that the insectile monsters say should be taken for granted, it purported to expose some universal truths -- that belief from mortals is a form of currency among "true life forms", and that the party's hatred of someone who did not actually exist -- Simon -- was fueling the power of some greater adversary. The creature also offered Tierney a place among those creatures.

Nyralla, Tim's sister, has the ability to breathe a line of acid. Anyone who has thumbed through the Monster Manual can probably hazard a guess as to what that implies.

The rules for body switching

Body:

• Str, Dex, Con
• Weapon and Armor Proficiencies
• Feats, except Metamagical Feats
• Body-oriented class abilities, including druidic wildshape, virtual feats, etc.
• Skills with physical modifiers (Climb, Hide, Concentration)

Mind:

• Int, Wis, Cha
• Base attacks, saves
• Spellcasting ability
• Soul-based class abilities, like turning undead or bardsong
• Skills with mental modifiers (Knowledge, Bluff, Spot)
