TG202
Episode Number: (TG202)
Original Airdate: 3/2001
On the way to Glain, still, the party encounters a band of outlaws. In midfight, a new enemy appears, and the party forms an impromptu alliance.
Plot Points:
- The OathMaker towns cast out people. Those people must either live in small, unprotected villages, or form bands of outlaws like Cleff and his friends.
- Sorcerers often form their own spells thematically, as evidenced by The AmberMage and the LeonineMage.
- Simon is now demonstrably powerful.
Unanswered Questions:
- What would Simon have done if the party weren't there? Would he have turned Maggs back from stone to flesh?
- Are Cleff the Adequate and his company responsible for the raids on the town?
Analysis:
While the party is uncomfortable with the BlackPillar, it looks like the OathMaker towns might have problems of their own. If people who are arguably good, like Cleff, can be forced to a life of crime, Robin-Hood-style, then that implies that the OathMaker towns are corrupt or otherwise not working properly.
DMP Speaks:
Kaelith seemed really uncomfortable in her role. It's like she doesn't even understand how the world works.
For crying out loud, guys, it's her first episode. Cut her some slack. She's still getting accustomed to the world she lives in, and the party, just like a normal person. When you're praying and doing devotions, you don't ordinarily run into a lot of manticores and crazed sorcerers.
