Operation Bergis Freedom

Episode Number: (TG602)
Original Airdate: 3/2002

After a quick consultation with Simon, the party teleports to Bergis to help liberate the town. Several teleport attempts later, they actually arrive at Bergis and locate the leader of the invading forces. They discover that the leader, a half-gold dragon giant named Zerstrom, intends to destroy Twingate to prevent the Ta'bar'pur from entering that way. Tierney engineers a temporary cease-fire, offering to find out more about the Ta'bar'pur's whereabouts.

Analysis

In other important news, Tim's draconic contact (his sister) told him a bit about the creatures to the North. Apparently they have a relationship with the dragons, and they use their mind-control field to rule the land as they see fit. Their city is up by some sea to the north.

More disturbingly reported was the fact that the old silver dragon -- the Savage Beast that the PL sent the party to kill -- has been killed, and the little box it guarded is gone. This MAY relate to the threatening notes that the PL left for the party in the previous episode, and it almost certainly relates to a threat that those creatures to the north received. Some evil force wants the Sebereich, and if it is not delivered, the evil force has vowed to blot out the sun and destroy the northern city. There was a three-day timeline on this.

Notable Quotes

Colin (while Tierney talks to Simon): Don't tell him about the Soul Forge. Don't tell him about the Soul Forge.
Patrick: And Tierney says?
Colin: Nothing.
Tim (to Tierney): Don't tell him about the Soul Forge.
Colin: Damnit!

Patrick: As you teleport in, iron walls magically surround you.
(Arly walks up the walls. Tim floats up. Tierney walks through the wall.) Patrick (to Tony): It's only iron...

Tierney (rolling a Bardic Lore check): By "never heard of it" I mean "natural 20 "...

Patrick: That gives them the power to control the minds of men.
Colin and Dave (in stereo): Oh that's not good.

Tierney: There are exceptions to any rule.
Tim: And you're most of them.
